Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard launched her career as a commercial seafood worker in the year 1999. She began to work on the F/V Sunset an a65' halibut-schooner which was converted into a Salmon tender, in the name of Murat Aritan, who was employed in commercial fishing since. Bossard married Aritan in 1999. The pair have come together to fight for their business. Both are in the direction of preserving resources and maximising profit. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor which was founded within Philadelphia in 2007 by a mother of two kids, Bella aged 3 and Andre age 1. In 2007, Bossard, a mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard and her children Andre 10 and Isabella 12 make their annual return for a visit to Southeast Alaska as deckhands to collect wild salmon in the summer. With a small 42 troller they capture salmon with hooks. Then they work alongside Aritan at a local processing facility for a period of two weeks.
